The Heart and Soul Behind Evita Salon: Where Dreams, Beauty, and Dedication Come Together to Create Moments of Pure Radiance

Evita Salon started with a simple dream in 1995. During that time, Mrs. Mertie and her family faced a tough situation when her husband lost his job. One day, a small salon business was offered to Mrs. Mertie. Without hesitation, she grabbed the opportunity and decided to study hairstyling and salon management so she could handle the business properly.

With the help of her good friend Bernadette Santiago, Mrs. Mertie opened their first salon called Mertie’s Salon. It was a small, simple place along General Tribucio St. Highway, but it quickly became known in the neighborhood. People came not only for haircuts and beauty services but also to relax and catch up with one another.

While the salon was just starting, Mrs. Mertie’s husband also set up a small food stall in front of the shop. He sold popular merienda and lutong bahay dishes that many customers enjoyed while waiting for their turn. The food stall became popular too, adding a lively and welcoming atmosphere to the place.

Years went by, and Mertie’s Salon faced many ups and downs. In 2013, the salon experienced a big challenge and was forced to close because of financial problems. But Mrs. Mertie didn’t give up. Instead, she decided to give the business a fresh start. That same year, the salon reopened with a new name — Evita Salon. The new name stood for hope, strength, and a new beginning.

Even with the changes, the salon remained in the same area, still along General Tribucio St. Highway, close to the hearts of its loyal customers. Slowly, Evita Salon gained back its place in the community and became even better.

Today, Evita Salon is a proud and successful beauty salon known for its friendly service, skilled staff, and a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels at home. After more than two decades, the salon continues to grow while staying true to its simple beginnings and the dream that started it all — to give people a place where they can feel beautiful, cared for, and special.

Mertie Dalumpines Enrera

Mertie Dalumpines Enrera is the proud founder and owner of this salon. At 63 years old, she continues to be the guiding hand and heart behind the business. A widowed mother of four, Mertie built this salon as her family’s primary source of income, turning her passion into a lasting livelihood.

Even as a young woman, Mertie knew that the beauty industry was where she belonged. Becoming a salon owner was her first choice, fueled by her natural talent and love for hairstyling, beauty care, and personal service. In 1994, she opened her salon with hope, faith, and a deep commitment to her craft.

Over the past 30 years, Mertie has grown the salon into a trusted and welcoming space for clients in the community. Her dedication, kindness, and skill have earned her the loyalty of many regular customers. To this day, she remains actively involved in the salon’s daily operations, greeting clients with warmth and ensuring each one leaves feeling beautiful and valued.

Evita Enrera

Evita Enrera is the dedicated co-owner, manager, and lead hairstylist of Evita Salon. A proud single mother of three, Evita’s journey in the beauty industry began in 2010, starting as a shampoo assistant and blower in her mother’s salon. Through hard work, passion, and determination, she gradually learned the art of hairdressing — from cutting and coloring to rebonding and styling.

Though she wasn’t able to finish college, Evita pursued vocational training in hairdressing, driven by her dream to provide a better future for her children. Her confidence and skills grew with every client, until the day her mother entrusted her with the salon’s name and legacy.

Now at the helm of the business, Evita manages daily operations and mentors junior hairstylists, teaching them both technical skills and the importance of creating genuine connections with clients. Her mission is to continue growing the business while inspiring others to chase their dreams — just as she did.
